As you may know Star Trek Continues is building an engine room and I wanted to post some progress photos on the construction. Tosgraphics.com has prepared a very detailed and extensive 5 page set of scaled blueprints covering every detail of the engine room. We will continue to update you on our progress so stay tuned!!
First the room was partitioned off with multiple rooms that had to be demolished to make room for the engine room. Here is the space after the demo was completed:
We began building the raised platform first. This is the wall that will have the consoles in front of it and the ship's ladder going up between them. Not much to look at now:
In this photo you can see the beginning of the framing for the upper wall:
Some more progress showing the soffit above the raised platform framed in:
The hardest part so far was standing up the side wall. This is the bottom part of it but we added the top section before we stood it up. It was tough but we got it done!
Sam, Royal, Scott, Vic and some hooligan from the street!
A photo from the backside which will never be on camera:
Working on the wall where the main engineering console will be:
Here work is being done on the back wall of the upper level. You can also see that the warp core area has been cut out:
Installing the wall covering; you can see the layout starting to look like the engine room (hopefully)
Consoles under construction:
